The Hills of High Wycombe rumbled as the Heavy Metal Classic got under way on the 14 December on the W.R.C.C Big 'Airfield' Oval this being the end of year meeting for 2008 which has been an epic year for the Wycombe clubs banger scene. This meeting brought 50 Drivers for Unders & Over's Bangers some racing both classes. The Classes were separated by the body shells representing a car with the engine size under or over 1800cc. With Over's Bangers Unlimited they're allowed six cells adding to the cocktail of destruction. Historic Hot Rods & Stockcar were in support, Giving a rest bite to the track from the carnage of the bangers. 
Some real smart material gracing the oval whether it be stunning paint or rarity it was a very well turned out field of cars. The Unders Bangers had top paint from 652 Simon Samways Bluebird. 565 Dan Smith's Smart car award winning Vauxhall Calibra. 401 Jason Domett, 476 Sean Pooley's & 627 Mike Richardson all with A60 Hearse's. Best material from 460 Mark Cooper with a Escort Chairman. 626 Matt richardson running a Mondeo Estate. 616 Sean Swift in a VW Beetle 44 Richard Wastie won the other Smart car Trophy with his Metallic Mondeo.
The Overs Bangers had Some real epic stuff with 151 Graham Coles in a Smartly painted XJ6 Estate. 791 Ryan Stuart six cell Dodge Charger Hearse with flashing lights. 210 Dan Martin in a Very smart Mk1 Granada Estate also with six cells. 240 Clint Brazier in a Mk2 Jag. Mk10 Jags from 120 Mike Richards, 340 William Brazier, 370 Melvyn Yeo, 460 Mark Cooper & 863 Les Smith using a Stretch MK10. DS420 Limos from 47 Rob Coles, 122 David Richards & DS hearses from 736 Steve Mansell & Mike Murray. to top off  overs class WRCC World Champion 626 Matt Richardson had bought a six cell 5ft long Mk2 Granada limo. Smart car winners were 565 Dan Smiths XJ6 & Damian Coombs XJ6 complete with working lights. The cars set a stage for a very hard hitting meeting out on the big oval that would be one to remember.

The Heats were all in letting the driver concentrate on wrecking rather than qualifying for final with 28 Bangers in the Under's & 30 Bangers in the Over's Class. The Hot rods & stockcars with 5 car in each heat were out first then came the Unders Bangers as the 28 cars lined up you could see it would be busy even on the big oval as they lined up along the straight & round the far Bend. The Start Saw Dan Smith get a wack taking his Calibra out 616 Swify & 122 Dave Richards being done on the first corner the rest filled the track with noise so much going on the first heat saw hit of the meeting with clint brazier giving a full lenght T-bone on the stranded A60 Hearse of 401 Phsyco ending up inside the it. 627 Mike Richardson Tried to win with his A60 hearse but ended up get jacked hard going into the fence reducing the hearse to canon fodder. Tom Richards also got his A60 Hearse Wreck early on. Rob Coles Qualified top going into the final.

The Over's Class saw 30 Bangers raw round the oval with the six cell powered bangers finishing in the top three & giving some hard hits along the way. 626 Mr Angry Powered his long Granada round while the rest tried to wrecked.Manger Wrecks from Les smith who's MK10 Stretch was Split in two. Ryan Stuart Gave Big hit to 286 Snapping the roof ofthe Yank. Mikey Turner got blitz by a few & finished of with a jacking from Danza.  In the Second Danza Gave Mr Angrys Limo a Massive T-bone into the fence which sent in barrel rolling out & thumping the race control Booth. the last heat saw a few Melting motors & Mr Angry's Limo Get put in by Clint braier allowing two cars to T- bone it going right thought the middle & Danza also got his MK1 Estate inside it in turn 460 Ruperts Mk10 Jacked the Estate Snapping. that pile up retired the Granada limo before the final. Dan Martin Qualified top going into Final.

The Wrecking was so hard that some drivers cars Didn't Survive the Heats Having the shells being completely wrecked or the radio gear braking so they didn't make the final &Due to the late Start some drivers Didnt Stay for the final.

The Unders Final saw 18 cars have a clean start which was ended by 120 Muttley doing a head-on with 370 Melvyn Yeo cause a track blockage stopping mike turner who was leading allowing Rob coles lead Battle with 46 Maverick for first Rob Coles ending up on top taking the the win.

The Overs Final Saw 18 cars very battle scared already held together with Tape, Glue & cable ties. Some drivers were just out to wreck & finish their cars off especially on the leaders it was a real hard race. Danza Mk1 Estate got out in front with with 3 laps on Richard Wastie 240z. 460 Rupert was piling in & his Mk10 kept going as the numbers started falling. 284 Jim Rice gave a head to 46 Maverick the later took major damage & mavericks Bentley's front got snapped but carried on. 151 Wolfie Got Jacked hard by 460 Rupert killing his Jag estate then son Rob Coles got a Head-on off Clint Brazier sending the DS420 out of the race. Danza went to hit Mike turner out of the way on the back straight but deflected over the top of turner & the fence & out allowing Wastie to Catch up & hold on to1st place to take the title over 285 Damian Coombs in Second & 460 Mark cooper in Third.
