WRCC Banger member Matt Richardson is one half of the chaos warriors due with twin brother Mike Richardson. Matt has always been in his brothers shadow fixing his car and helping him out on track instead of going for the win but for the last two seasons Matt has come to the forefront of the top ten big names of RC bangers thanks to his recent big wins picking up the Basildon world & Wycombe world final titles in 2007 making him the man to beat in the 2008 season. Matt has always been up there in the club annual points & was champion last year until brother Mike won it going into 2008.

Matt got interest in RC racing when he saw Cambridge Club demo racing at the Brentwood Oval motor sport show in 1997 Matt & his brother were instantly hooked & got Hotrods.

Matt then the joined the club with brother Mike back in 1998 when it was the High Wycombe Mini Stox Club. Only Hotrods & Mini Stox ran on a circuit back then and Matt raced an escort in the famous black & white colours with sign writing like the real thing, which got me talking to him having the same interest in full size racing. When the club moved to its permanent venue in 2000 the promoters held an open meeting on a Figure of eight oval with a banked bend which had banger racing for the first time at Wycombe. Matt & Mike had Wolseley Hearses & I had a Triumph Stag the only drivers actually racing banger shells. It was a great meeting & the three of us pushed for the formula to be a regular thing at the club on an oval. Bangers built up in numbers & along with the F1 Stockcars in 2005 got an permanent oval when the club changed hands to become WRCC.

The Nickname. When Matt started racing bangers he always put the T'n'T explosive symbol on the side of his cars you don't need to ask why as he regularly blow his top over people doing him or his bro annoying him. Roy Calver nick named him "Mr Angry" from then on everyone new him as Mr Angry.

Matts Mardave banger has a two speed board with direct soldered wipers. Tyres are SE meds on back & worn SE med on outside tyre, pink on inside front the rest is standard. I wouldn't say it the cleanest car in the pits but he uses it well and is always on the pace.

Favourite meeting other than the two latest world finals was the 2002 King of the Ring were he raced a Rolls Royce limo that was a wrecking machine & won the round.

Matt says his best hit was in the 2006 firecracker when he continually followed in 96 Wiggles Ambulance blitzing it with his DS420 Hearse.

Driving style is race round till there's a big enough hit to go in on the bend, will rod round if can't catch 'em goes on oppo & always gets his man. Likes a big hit from time to time & isn't usually on the receiving end of a big hit.

Matt's choice of cars to use are: Best Racer Jaguar XJ6. Best cars to wreck with Triumph 2000 & old Capri. Best material is the DS40 Hearse.
